World Coffee Aid
Every month the Villa & Hut Trust allocates 5,000,000 Indonesian Rupiah (approximately $750 AUD) to a worthwhile charity, individual, institution or family, as nominated or suggested by readers of the Lombok Times on the Island of Lombok in Indonesia. This allocation is independently chosen by the editor of the Lombok Times, and ensures 100% percent of the funds raised go directly to the people who need them the most. For the 07/08 financial year, theVilla & Hut Trust has already committed 100,000,000 Rupiah, however the more we can collect, the more we can allocate. |

This month sees the allocation of funds from the Villa & Hut Trust via the World Coffee Aid program run thru the Villa & Hut Kafe’s. Through this process, Villa & Hut have been able to buy a wheel chair for a villager in Lombok who is an amputee. This villager has had to use a skateboard to mobilize himself up until now, as there is no medicare or similar to assist these sort of people. The wheelchair will greatly assist this person in moving around, general health – and of course greater independence.
We can’t change the world – but we can try to change one person’s life every month. |
